The Dating Game

A fake romance will solve all their problems…And stir up a bunch of new ones!

Veterinary student Saira Rawal definitely believes in love. It’s just…not for her. Not when getting through her days without panic attacks is struggle enough. But at least she has Tyler Hart – her brother’s best friend, who has always been her safe space. He even takes her in when she and her disaster of a therapy puppy need somewhere to stay! So when she can return the favor, helping him save face with his brother by pretending they are together, she steps right up. With a pretend relationship, it’s not like there’s any chance of someone really getting hurt…right?

“Got you wrapped around her little finger, eh, little brother?” Colton chuckled.
Tyler gave him a withering look.
“Well, I must thank Rita for leaving Tyler all those years ago.” Saira singsonged in that dangerous tone Tyler knew all too well.
“Sweetheart.” Tyler pretended to chide her as he laughed to himself. Do not mess with Saira Rawal.
“Rita is more than happy with the Hart brother she’s got.” Colton retorted.
“To each their own, I suppose.” Saira shrugged.
“Mom wants us to come over at seven tomorrow,” Colton said.
Tyler glanced at Saira, then back at Colton. “We’ll see her another time. We don’t want to steal your thunder.”
Colton scoffed. “As if you could.”
“Whatever. You two–.” He stopped as Saira nudged him and held out her phone. There was a message from his mom.
Don’t even think about letting Tyler miss this dinner.
His shoulders drooped as he glanced up at Colton’s victorious face, then looked at Saira. She flicked those brown eyes at him, agitated, but resigned.
They were going to his mother’s tomorrow night.
To announce their engagement.
Their fake engagement.
