Excerpt from Their Accidental Honeymoon

He didn’t sleep a wink, so by the time he woke for the flight home, he still hadn’t put the kiss behind him. She was his best friend—they could talk about anything, right?
He took a chance as they waited at the gate and their flight was delayed. “About last night—”
“Nothing happened last night, Param.” She had used her doctor voice. “There was a lot of alcohol, you’re not in a great place, I got caught up... Nothing happened.” She made eye contact. “We are best friends. That’s a rare thing.”
He got it. They were to put the whole thing away. Chalk it up as a fluke and forget about it, to save their friendship. He nodded in agreement. His friendship with Rani was a source of sanity for him. He didn’t want to lose their friendship either.
He searched her face for a moment. After what felt like an eternity, he nodded. “Agreed.” He turned away from her without saying anything else.
He heard her sigh of relief and then promptly ignored the pang of pain that shot through his body. The kiss had been nothing more than a drunken fluke to Rani, and she “ and she was moving on, so he would too.
Never mind that kissing Rani had felt more right than anything else ever had.”
